Abstract

This study explores the potential and threats of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance student learning independence. AI is integrated as a “second teacher” capable of providing personalized learning and instant feedback, helping students learn at their own pace and style. Personalized learning through AI platforms can increase student engagement and motivation, while adaptive learning systems facilitate a more efficient and flexible learning process. However, the study also identified several challenges, including over-reliance on technology, reduced social interaction, and concerns about student data privacy and security. Furthermore, unequal access to technology can exacerbate educational inequalities. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of carefully managing the integration of AI into education systems so that this technology can be used effectively without diminishing the central role of teachers and human interaction in education. Thoughtful implementation can enrich students' learning experiences without compromising the development of life skills and character traits essential to 21st-century education.
